Ingredients:
- Toor dal – 3 tbsp
- Cooking oil – 1/2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder – 1 pinch
- Vegetables & Tomatoes
- Tamarind – 2 ½ tbsp
- Mustard, curry leaves & red chilies
Preparation:
Cooking directions for a family of 4.
Bring to boil 3 tbsp toor dal in 3 cups of water. Add1/2 tbsp of cooking oil. Add 1 pinch of turmeric powder. Add 1 to 1.5 cups of your favourite cleaned and chopped vegetables & tomatoes. Add 1tbsp of TGFC sambar powder in ½ cup of water, mix it well to a smooth paste and add to the cooked dal & vegetables. Add 2 ½ tbsp. of tamarind pulp with salt to taste. Boil for 5 minutes. Heat ½ tsp. oil in a pan, crackle ½ tbsp. mustard, curry leaves, red chilies and add to ready sambar.
Serve hot with Rice, Idli, Dosa, Wada. You will love it!
TGFC Tips: For sweetness add 1 tsp. jaggery. Garnish with coriander leaves to taste.
